Temi Otedola

TemiotedolaDo tell us about yourself and your blog?

My name is Temi and I am a full-time student and fashion blogger. I launched jtofashion.com as a platform to show various content surrounding my life and experiences in the fashion world. What makes my blog special is that I mix Luxury African designers including Lisa Folowiyo with some of my other favourite European brands including Natasha Zinko.

How did you first get into blogging?

I loved reading other blogs including Man Reppeler and Song of Style so I decided to start my own!

How would you describe your blogging style?

Eclectic. I love trying out new things and don’t believe in having one particular way of dressing. That’s why I find fashion so fun – you can be a different type of woman each day.

Can you tell us some of your strengths that has helped you in blogging?

I would say I’ve always had a pretty photographic eye. So, when it comes to shooting content for my blog I consider everything- location, colours and even shadows.

TemiotedolaHow do you manage time to run your blog efficiently?

Staying organised definitely plays a huge part in running a successful blog. I make sure to designate enought time for shooting outfits, attending fashion events, writing posts, improving the layout of my blog and filming YouTube videos.

What is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?

Social media is crucial in driving traffic to my website, so whenever I have a new feature I make sure to push it on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat.

What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging?

Last year I was on the HSBC’s Black Power List of the top 100 students studying in the UK. I’m currently studying History of Art at the University College London, so I’m proud that I am able to succeed in my degree alongside all the work I do in Fashion.

Temi Otedola What do you do in your spare time?

I love visiting musuems and galleries. I also spend a lot of my time eating with my family!

Where would you like to be in blogging in the next 5 years?

I would like my readership to spread to even more people in various countries. I would also like to have other writers and people working in the fashion industry to contribute content.

Can you name some of your favourite bloggers and why?

As previously mentioned my favourite blogs are Man Repeller and Song of Style. I think the quality of writing and content rivals in any established fashion magazine, and I love how Aimee Song shares her highs and lows with her followers.

Your favorites go too Designers?

For daytime I like H&M, Acne and Isabel Marant. For evening – Lisa Folawiyo, Delpozo and Topshop. And for jewellery, Adele Dejak
